All staff receive extensive training far beyond the minimum advised in statutory guidance.
We believe that specialist training is vital to equip staff to understand autism and deliver autism specific interventions. Our training in autism is a rolling programme that reflects the latest research but also responds to the changing needs of the individuals that we support.
A great deal of our specialist training is provided by our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and Lynne Moxon (Consultant Psychologist) who trains nationally and internationally on autism spectrum conditions and associated difficulties and disabilities.
Training for staff includes:
- Sensory Training
- TEACCH Training
- Autism Awareness
- Communication and Sensory Issues
- Studio 3 (BILD Accredited) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- Sex and Relationships
- Mental Health and Autism
- Training for Professionals : The Autism Spectrum (3 days)
- Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Children
- Mental Capacity
- Deprivation of Liberty
- Diversity and Inclusion
- Meaningful Activities
- PDA Awareness

All our Tutors are also fully qualified teachers. Residential, day and domiciliary managers and support staff achieve a Health and Social Care Diploma appropriate to their role.
