Personal Progress Pathway
Helping you to develop your independence and work skills
The Personal Progress Pathway is centred around you and designed to help you make progress in a range of areas.
Each person’s pathway is specifically designed for them and flexibility suits individual needs.
What could the pathway include?
Your Personal Progress Pathway would include development of your understanding, skills and experience in some or all of the following areas:
- Using and developing your strengths
- Developing self-reflection and personal understanding
- Becoming more independent
- Improving communication with others
- Developing confidence and self esteem
- Understanding others
- Increasing involvement in leisure and community activities
- Accessing work experience
- Developing employability skills and understanding of careers
- Studying and gaining qualifications
- Exploring creative subjects
- Making plans linked with your goals.
Who will I work with?
An approachable member of college staff will work with you to develop your individual pathway. You will work 1:1 with the member of staff at first but may plan to work in a small group with other people. ESPA staff are experienced in helping people make progress in their independence in many aspects of their life.
Where will the learning take place?
We have bases in Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Sunderland.
Who is eligible?
You need to be aged between 16 and 25 and have either left compulsory education or are due to this summer.
The Personal Progress Pathway is designed for people who don’t currently have a plan to stay in education or for people who have found they have difficulties fitting into existing educational options.
You will need the support of someone in your local authority to get a place.
How to apply
The Personal Progress Pathway is classed as specialist provision, so your local authority needs to commission a place for you.
ESPA staff can guide you through the application process and we will contact the appropriate officer in your local authority who would need to support your application.
Contact ESPA Funding Manager Mike Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling (0191) 516 5080.
