Although not essential we are keen to recruit drivers.

All applicants must be over 21 years of age.

Burnfoot Court in Kenton, Newcastle is a purpose built core and cluster development providing Independent Supported Living Services to people on the autism spectrum and who have complex needs. Support is also provided to one other individual who lives in the Newcastle area, and there is scope for further support to be provided in the locality.

We are looking to recruit a full-time Senior Support Worker who has significant knowledge and experience of working with adults with autism and mental health conditions. You must have a mature and compassionate attitude towards working with people who challenge services.

You will have a defined role within the wider team and support the management team. Previous experience of leading others or a senior role would be advantageous.

You must be able to work alone and as part of a team to provide a person-centred service for all individuals. A solid working knowledge of ESPA’s policies and procedures is necessary to help lead the team to work effectively with each person.

Extensive knowledge and experience of positive behavioural approaches is essential. You must be able to mentor others to follow protocols and guidelines which are known to be effective for each person.

You must have a high level of commitment and flexibility towards service delivery and be able to contribute to all aspects of the service, including working with all individuals at Burnfoot to meet their needs.

You must be able to deputise for the management team in specific areas of responsibilities.

It is important that you possess good verbal, written and IT skills. The ability to fully participate in meetings with various professionals is also essential.

You must have a level of fitness that enables participation in activities as part of the persons programme.
